In the wake of the huge success of 1977's STAR WARS, hype for the second film of the saga started ramping up almost immediately. Fans got their first taste of "Star Wars II" with the appearance of posters promoting THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK popping up in theaters in the late 1979 through it's release in May '80. RFR V.I.P. Peter Beisser walks us through the evolution of the posters from the very first concept by Ralph McQuarrie to all of the home video releases.
